[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] A world on the decline finds unexpected hope when 4000 tears in space that are later dubbed "The Gates" suddenly appear all around the world. Governments the world over quarantine the areas and to study the gates. 10 years later nothing more is known about the gates. Not a single thing that has been sent into a gate has returned. There are no signals, radiation, nor any other form of detectable energy emanating from the gates. Despite the unknown dangers the gates pose, when given the options to enter the gates 100's of millions of people chose to do so. Wyatt now old enough to pass through knows it's the only option because just surviving is no longer enough. Join Wyatt as he travels through a gate, and into the unknown.  I don’t have a specific release schedule, but if people like my story and it continues on beyond the writathon I plan to have a more formalized release plan. This story may contain moments of depression, and anxiety. Although I don't anticipate a lot of it there will likely be explicit language occasionally as well. Being in other worlds moments of cruelty or torture may occur, but I will limit descriptions of those events. The plan is for this to evolve into an action packed adventure, and all that entails.
