Synopsis
After an apocalyptic event that plunged the European continent into eternal torture, mankind discovered immortality. Johannes Ithunn, the man responsible for the discovery, became the world's first trillionaire after only five years. Two hundred years later, his wealth is measured not in currency or gold, but in governments controlled and humans immortalised.
A new form of capital punishment was introduced to feed the growing industry. Convicts who would have been put to death two centuries ago, must now harvest the immortality from the still-living bodies of the damned, or join them.
As the price of immortality fluctuates between exorbitant and incomprehensible, a new upper crust of humanity has appeared. Most mortals live and die with the hope of joining them ever instilled in their minds. Yet is eternal life really the ideal it seems?
Those Who Outlive the Sun is a near-future dystopia about a small of group of these convicts suffering, surviving and solving their way through massive floating cities, swathes of nightmarish creatures, and the rigors of an oppressive technocracy, their end goal being a cure to everlasting suffering.
