Altair, born in a world rich with bloodshed, pleads for peace and freedom, acting as the voice to those unable to speak. But he can do more. He can be more. Alioth, the Dead Fate, killed centuries before by three mortals who divided their power between themselves, finds Altair in the midst of a spring night. They offer him the one thing he cannot refuse: A chance to end the war he so deeply despises. Altair can join the sea of corpses, useless and unremarkable, or he can join the Dead Fate and end the war without bloodshed. Altair makes his choice. He follows Alioth into the realm of gods, seeking revenge on those who killed the Fate, only to find nothing he was promised is true—but there is no going back now.
