Synopsis
Time has washed away everything but the myth.
It is said that great and powerful men once lusted for what they could not have: immortality. That they used the pockets of power throughout their world to twist and transfigure, to craft the practice of alchemy in order to bend their surroundings - and themselves - to their own will.
Some claim they succeeded. Others say they all perished, and in their deaths, great and impossible beasts were unleashed across the land, those pockets of power tainted and turned to blight. Curved around the largest, deepest trench of that corruption is the county of Blightwatch, the bulwark against the terrors within, its people grim-faced and unyielding as stone.
Eida is a rarity, a learned woman surrounded by countless unlearned others who have taken on ignorance as a virtue. Where hubris has changed and twisted their world, surely the shirking of such knowledge is the cure. For all that, many see her as a necessary evil: few are equipped to investigate the deaths which plague Blightwatch, few have the capacity or the stomach for it. Little is known about her history, but wherever she goes, whispers follow that she traffics in the arcane, that her books and her potions carry the blight with them, and that evil habors in her shadow.
When Eida is summoned by Count Sordheim, Blightwatch's liege, to solve a death his men cannot decipher, it begins a path of revelation that will either illuminate the County and lead it to salvation - or unleash secrets which should have stayed hidden, and damn them all.

These Bloodied Bones is a story I plan to plug away at and upload for every other day, if I can manage it! It will contain some brand new monsters and some very classical ones, spun with my own flavor and twist. The story will deal with adult themes, so bear that in mind as you read. I hope you enjoy, and thanks for looking! The cover art featured was created by PaleCaesar, who is an utter delight to work with as an artist, and was used with their permission!
