Albert Dalton was a wealthy trader in Victorian London leading a normal life until the night his wife and daughter were kidnapped under bizarre circumstances. Now he is hunting down criminals in hopes finding the one who took them. One night a strange woman appears on his doorsteps claiming that she can talk to the dead. His skepticism is soon dispelled as he is plunged into a world of the supernatural.
