Synopsis
Thirty somethings with teens and younger kids come together to take their aging grandmother to visit the house she grew up in. Little do they know it’s in the middle of an Elven Wood, right out of the Old World. Magical intrigue ensues.
A lightly comedic and uniquely American retelling of The ELF KING by Goethe. A bright light, summery, feel good, married with kids, dramedy reimagining. Irony intended along with the poke in the eye with a sharp stick to all the Old Word patriarchy. “In her arms” the child would have lived. And spoilers: they just might. Taking The Elf King as read and in need of an update.
Complete with a mother doing battle with a Lorelei to save her son and a musician playing for his life in the court of an Elf King. But understated. This world with light fantasy hidden in it. Supernatural elements stay cloaked in mystery for most characters. 85,000 words, 28 chapters, with a Preface, Prologue, and an Epilogue.
