A boy whose birth name was forgotten, was born with a genetic disease that caused his tissue to rapidly deteriorate into dust. In an effort to save the young boy from his disease and an upcoming war between two neighboring advanced planets, when he was born his guardians volunteered him secretly for a study revolving his condition and five others with less severe conditions. They would be kept safe from the war, and in return they were given to be studied and experimented on, until a cure could be found for them, or until they died. In addition to this after the cure was found they would be used for experimentation with three different super serums, serums that would give them inherently stronger bodies with higher regenerative abilities and possibly develop psychic powers. During the war between the two nations the test subjects 1 through 5 were experimented on and in the end half died after mutating due to the chemicals and radiation left by the war, and the other half released after being given three separate serums, killing one of the remainders, leaving only one and three. However the young boy, kept there in secret also known by the lab as Zero was given more extensive experiments, as his condition was much harsher, was nearly killed in the process of finding the cure. In order to keep subject Zero alive the laboratory known as the Secrets of the Human Body foundation, or SBF replaced his heart, lungs, stomach, right eye, and left arm with cybernetic replacements, making him have much higher regenerative powers, immune to poisons and have a literal stomach of steel, as well as having incredible eye sight, night vision, if wanted infared vision, and granted him large strength in his left arm. Unfortunately during the process they were not able to save part of his brain in charge of speak, making it difficult for him to say more than a few words. During the process of using Zero as a subject for the serums, he gained the ability to control his genetic disability. He also gained a greatly strengthened body. Afraid, SBF destroyed the remaining serums and disbanded after attempting to kill Zero, in which they succeeded only for his special psychic ability, necromaster to barely allow him to hold onto a thread of life. When he finally recovered he found a manual from the head scientist and founder of the foundation with insights into the cultivation of the energy all around him. A manual titled Way of the Wanderer. This is an account of his adventures exactly one year after being released, at the age of 17.
