Both being secret outsiders, the two fall in love and devise plans to run off together. However, Celine's betrothed French Dauphin has other plans when he discovers the secret romance. To escape the royal family and the gallows, Celine's mother uses her powers to open the portal to the realm of Orros, a land where Celine and Dakota can be together in love.
