Chapter One of The Alpha's Queen

¤Darkness¤

Snow. Snow. Stupid snow everywhere my eyes land and my feet hits.

A week before Christmas and I'm already growing tired of it. Don't get me wrong i do like all the gifts, the food and the family being together. It just get tiring after a while with all the singing and fake smiles between family members that don’t like each other. And most disgracefully of all the unseasoned turkey.

A shiver crawled up my spine thinking about Aunt Susan’s turkey last night.

“What’s up with that look?” Mollie who was a few steps ahead of me grunted out as she looked from behind her to me

“Nothing…..”I drawled out

"Pick your feet up Theresa, we need to be there before mom and dad lash out on us"

She, herself, having difficulties of pulling one of her feet out of the thick blanket of snow.

"You should be the one talking" I mumbled, cold air coming into to view" Why the hell did we choose this shortcut again?"

"It's quicker to home" she said with a duh tone, side eyeing me.

"You choose the short way to hell" i mumbled under my breath, but ofcourse she heard

"No, between hell and heaven, the not so long and not so short way to home" she shrugged her shoulder, brushing her hair back behind her hoodie.

I didn't comment further knowing the conversation was going nowhere.

After finally getting her foot out she took big steps with me following shortly behind.

Just a few more minutes and we'll be there, just a few.

My head began to hurt when i realised that someone was trying to make it's way through the family link, and i let them.

'Sweetie it's mom, where are you guys?' Mom panicked voice came through, i could mentally see her pacing in the living room and look at the door every second.

'Mollie thought it would be a good idea to take a shortcut home instead of waiting' i exclaimed annoyed at my sister’s decision, scowling at her even though she couldn't see me.

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

'We've trying to reach your phones. I though you were at Gage'

'No, Mollie phone died and i left mine at his place. Before i went up to meet Mollie. if forgot' i explained.

My mom sighed and said in a reasuring voice 'No worries your father is on his way, stay put oke.'

'Oke, what's the matter mom?'

'Just a heavy storm coming .But don't worry, your father is going get you just stay walking on the path you were on'

'Oke mom' i said with an unsure voice.

"Dad is coming to pick us up" Mollie announced stopping to lean against a half fallen tree.

I a couple of steps behind her, pulling my jacket tighter around me as cold chills hit me.

"Yeah mom told me, we better walk a little bit more so that dad can sense us" i suggest.

Mollie sneezed from the cold, pinching the bridge of her nose.

"Let's just rest here for a minute my feet are going numb from the cold" she wined to my dismay.

For an older sister she's the quite a child.

"I don’t feel so good just staying here and waiting for too long. So let's move or we'll be stuck freezing to death. The closer we are the sooner they find us" i said stubbornly with a stern look on my face.

She was about to say something untill a sneeze from her stopped it.

I grabbed her by her arm helping her stand "Now let's go".

We ducked under the bend over tree, a part of it cover with snow and a little frost ice. The cold December wind blowed harsher than before against us, suddenly making my senses go spiral. I couldn’t seem to keep my eyes forward, i sensed something around us.

I feel it……..

Took a second to look at my sister, but no sign of her worrying or something. She looked simply exhausted. She simply looks back at me with a raised eyebrow afterwards looking ahead.

Mollie slightly shivered, holding me closer to her in a secure way.

"Hope dad can sense us" Mollie breathed out in a whisper.

Seconds later, we could hear heavy feet coming our direction. After that hearing our dad's voice.

"Girls!!”

“Mollie, Theresa!!" We heard dad's yell before seeing him at the far end. It's was beginning to snow harder, snowflakes coverd my eyes not able to see clearly.

"Dad!!" Mollie yelled back, walking a few step faster with my hand in hers.

Something's coming up, something's coming up. A little voice at the back of my mind kept repeating. My ears couldn't stop ringing.

And my wolf agreed with a whimper of her own. Fear crawled on my back, i couldn't control the anxiety I suddenly felt crashing to me.

"Resa, it's dad come'n" Mollie glanced back at me, than at dad who was still far away.

I wiped my eyes with the back of my hand, for a more clear vision. But the minute i dropped my hand, i felt Mollie's hand slipping away from me. And this one very loud ringing in my ear.

It happened so fast even i didn't have time to hold on to my breath. The cold wind blew us in one hit against different directions, i yelled from the sudden impact

Mollie went flying against a tree.

I saw dad coming closer but he looked so far away, holding a now injured Mollie.

Something kept hold of me digging its sharp nails through my skin.

I struggled against its hold, but it was useless.

"Theresa!!" Mollie and Dad screamed for me, but they look so far away now.

"Mollie, dad. Help me" i choked out but after that i was met with darkness.
