Chapter 98 [ Threadvision ]

"Hihihi, okay... I'll tell you one thing as a present for our meeting," the butterfly replied cheerfully.

"If it continues like this, that good friend you don't care about and the rest of his guild, will die together on 27th Floor and start a new Great War Tower."

Mika's eyes were perfectly round. She was on the verge of shock and disbelief. Mika was honestly confused right now.

"......."

A moment's pause gave her time to think.

What was that butterfly talking about exactly? Was it true? Her friend was going to die? Why did the butterfly approach her and tell her about it? Who was the butterfly and what was its purpose? Thinking about it now was an exercise in futility. Those questions she could find out later. What Mika really wanted the answer to was now...

"You..."

Mika tried to find the right words.

"Moving for whom?" she asked, startling the butterfly.

"..... Why do you ask that? Aren't there more important things to ask?" replied the butterfly with another question.

With a smug face, Mika replied.

"You don't know who I am when you came to see me? I may not be Rokka Ranker. But when it comes to information, I'm one of the top."

"Don't underestimate me," she taced.

"Information like that, I can find out myself."

The butterfly was left speechless in awe. The butterfly, or the person behind the butterfly smiled happily.

"If you're that good, can't you figure it out?"

Mika let out a small breath.

"With my Nova, I haven't been able to access detailed ranker information. How do I know who's behind you if I don't even know you?"

"Ara? You're so honest," said Butterfly.

"She knew I was a ranker in just a few seconds? Hihihi..."

"Sou desu ne... Who am I moving for? Hmm... How about this?"

The butterfly flew around Mika.

"Think of me as a miner who pulls gold out of abandoned mines so that those who know its value can obtain it."

Mika, "......"

"I knew it. She intends to get me out of the village. Is she from that guild?"

"..... No, if she was from that guild, she wouldn't have talked to me like this. Besides--"

She looked deeply at the butterfly.

"-- the energy that created that butterfly... It wasn't Nova. But Veeha?"

Mika turned around and walked away from the butterfly.

"Ah, sou. If you want that, I happen to be thinking the same thing."

"I do want to leave the village."

"But not to save anyone or work for anyone."

"You could die..." said the butterfly.

"All Conquerors die sooner or later," Mika replied indifferently.

"You really don't want to help your friend?" asked the butterfly.

"N."

"Your friend will die, you know..."

"She died because she was weak. Her own fault."

"Arara..."

Despite being ignored to that extent, the person behind the butterfly chuckled. Before that person removed the butterfly and turned it back into Veeha. That person told Mika one last thing.

"Well, whatever you decide, no one can influence you."

"But if you want to save your friend... Find out all information about 'Glacial Princess' before day changes. She is only one who can help you save your friend and avenge your enemy."

The butterfly turned into a light that spread everywhere like a firefly and disappeared soon after. Leaving Mika alone there with her complicated thoughts.

"........"

Mika realized the butterfly disappeared even though she didn't see it.

"Glacial... Princess, huh..."

Once home from the lake (secretly), Mika rushed into and locked her room.

"Tsk, damn..."

Inevitably, Mika was disturbed by the butterfly's words.

"I'm just doing this so I don't get annoyed anymore," she said to herself.

"After all, who told you to give me information like that, you obscure person."

She stretched her arms down to her sides. Mika closed her eyes.

Threadvision

This ability allows Mika to see threads of information that connect everything around her. It's like tracing hidden web information in universe. She can quickly understand connections and relationships between different concepts, facts or ideas. It's like opening a book in a universal knowledge library. This ability allows her to instantly access information she need without having manually search or read sources.

But there is a big price behind great power. Because of cost of this power, Raka, Youka and Mika's friends who knew about it, forbade Mika from using it as much as possible.

So far she had been searching for information in the usual Rokka style with her computer or holograms. But Threadvision had a completely different basis and process. This ability included reversing laws of cause and effect, so the burden on her body was heavy. Last time Mika used it, was probably before she left Yuka?

"Haah... Didn't think I'd use it again now... Especially because of that obscure butterfly..." Mika thought to herself.

"Ah mou, if you want to find info on Glacial Princess, how can you use Rokka's method, don't look for it, I guarantee you won't find it."

Mika took a deep breath, preparing to use this skill.

[ Threadvision ]

Instantly, the closed eyes opened. Showing eyes that were slightly different from Mika's usual eyes.

Along with the change in her eyes, blood flowed from there.

Mika's vision also completely changed. She was no longer looking at her room, but instead seemed to be looking at the universe around her. A universe filled with golden books flying around each sphere like an endless planet.

Mika's hands waved in the air like a conductor leading an orchestra.

Faster her hands moved, more blood came out of her eyes.

"Kuh..."

Mika tried to hold back the pain in her eyes.

"A little... more... hold on..." Mika whimpered.

As the pain and throbbing in her eyes got worse, her left hand stopped moving to hold her eyes which reflexively began to close. Meanwhile, her right hand was moving faster and faster.

"Don't... now..."

Others, or even Mika herself, might not be able to see it with naked eye. Mika went through this not based on her vision, but as if her soul was connected to Aetheric Codex. Mika's hands were actually searching and sorting out information she needed.

The "Aetheric Codex" can be interpreted as a book or collection information that covers all aspects of universe, including hidden or transcendental matters. But for the record, Aetheric Codex only has information about what already exists and its veracity is inviolable. Anything that lacks clarity, such as the future, is not in Aetheric Codex.

Hmm? Doesn't Threadvision not need to sort and search anymore? Hahahaha, that's right.

But with her nova now, all the information that Aetheric Codex gave her, most of it was sealed with the

[ Unknown ]

or

[ User Doesn't Meet High Level Information Access Requirements ]

Mika had to search on her own for any information that was open to her. Well, that was the downside of Threadvision aside from the strain on her eyes.

"Found it!" Mika thought happily.

Mika immediately touched the information she needed. It looked like a light that once touched would be sucked in by her hand and move into her head.

"ARRRRHGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!"

Mika screamed in pain.

Threadvision fed the information provided by Aetheric Codex directly into Mika's brain. With that much information instantly entering her brain, it certainly wouldn't be that easy. Especially if it was a piece of High Level Information.

TAP TAP TAP TAP

"MIKA!!!??"

Aaaaand... Of course. If Mika screamed that loudly, there was no way no one could hear her. Mika's room wasn't soundproof or anything like that.

It was her second brother who happened to be there, uh, not coincidentally. He had been with Raka since Mika left and waited at Raka's house when Raka went to welcome his son.

Ekhm, the point is, Youka who happened to be there, heard Mika's scream on the 2nd floor and rushed to his sister.

He was shocked to see Mika bleeding from the eye and sitting limply on the floor of her room.

"!!?"

"You're using Threadvision!?" panicked Youka.

"What kind of information do you want to know to use this again!!!? Didn't Raka Nii-san and I forbid you!!!" fumed Youka with worry.

Youka immediately picked up his sister. Without further ado, he ran out of the house with Mika.

"I'll take you to Lunka right away! Hang in there!"

"You...ka... Nii-san..."

"Don't talk anymore! You stupid little sister... This is why Raka Nii-san can't let you go by yourself..." Youka choked.

"You lack the awareness to take care of yourself."

Mika could not see Youka. She would go blind after wearing Threadvision for a few hours. Rather than being called a side effect of Threadvision, this was more the effect of the bleeding and the strain on her eyes. This was honestly not surprising. Threadvision was actually one of the special eyes possessed by Transcendent beings. It was not something that normally existed in an ordinary Conqueror. So, it was only natural that the impact of using the Transcendent ability on a non-transcendent creature would be huge.

Lunka Clinic, Rokka Village

Loli with silvery blonde hair and orange eyes had finished treating Mika's wounds and bandaging her eyes.

"Mou... Mi-chan, you're wearing it again, aren't you? I told you a long time ago to never use Threadvision unless you have a potion nearby," Lunka, the doctor at Rokka Village, grumbled.

"Sorry, I was caught off guard," Youka regretted.

"It wasn't your fault, You-kun. Mi-chan, explain it to me," Lunka smiled.

"Gomennasai..." bowed Mika.

Lunka let out a small sigh.

"Why are you doing that? You sealed it away a long time ago, right? Why are you suddenly wearing it now?"

"I want to know too. Was there something urgent that made you wear it again?" asked Youka.

Mika looked the other way, as if she was avoiding their gaze.

"Well, that..."

"I can't talk!"

"What should I say!? No way I'll say that I'm using Threadvision because of the damn butterflies that make people curious!!!" Mika thought.

Mika couldn't lie to both of them. One was her brother, the other her sister-in-law who had been with her since childhood. If Mika lied, they would be found out immediately.

"Sorry, Youka Nii-san... Lunka Nee-san... I... Can't say it. This is my problem. It's my fault for wearing it when there was no potion nearby. Just scold me, but please don't ask any further questions," Mika said quietly.

Both Youka and Lunka looked at her and smiled.

"We get it. Since you don't want to say it, we won't force you."

"But you said yourself that it was your fault, huh?"

"If you want to be scolded that much, fine. I'll grant your wish."

Instantly Mika gasped and shuddered, a strange air seemed to come out of her two older siblings. Ah, like Mika had dug her own grave.

"P-Please don't be so loud..." she feared.
