Ronan is the son of a blacksmith who has volunteered to fight in the first war in a century for his country, a war where the motives of the two sides are not as they seem. During his first battle something inside him awakens, but this force seemingly has a mind of his own. With spotty recollection of the battle and his actions in it, he must now navigate his new found fame among his comrades, and the commanders. Thrust into a world he has no reference for, filled with intrigue and hidden agendas, Ronan must decide for himself if he should do as expected of him.
