Trapped in his friend's sci-fi novel, the protagonist is possessed by the character Ray Laxon and must navigate a dangerous world filled with dungeons, monsters, magic, and demons.  Accused of associating with the villains, Ray and his family face execution.  The protagonist's goal is to survive his execution and find a way out of the world, whether it be by escaping the novel or finding another way.  With time running out, the protagonist must use all of his knowledge and skills to outsmart the villains and secure his freedom.  Will he succeed, or will he be forever trapped in this unfamiliar world?
