Synopsis
Life was idyllic in the coastal town of Piria, it always had been. In fact, Neyra Tallfellow could remember a time when her biggest problem was choosing which dress to wear to the village dance. She never thought that would change.
She never knew that a wall of dark clouds would deliver an army to their doorstep. She didn’t believe that dark creatures would consume the home and life she loved. She never once imagined that the sky could rain green fire, or that the screams of children and the scent of blood would someday haunt her. Neyra never believed she and her siblings could become orphans and refugees.
But they did.
Years after the attack left her family torn apart, Neyra tries to help them find peace in their new home. But that peace can’t last. The shadow army is growing. And when the high judges of the land form a grand army of resistance, her siblings feel called to join the fight.
Elivera, the youngest, enlists to prove her worth. She is determined to take her place as a leader.
Arv, their adopted orc brother, wants to use his strength for good. This gentle giant will die before letting any more harm befall his sisters.
Shamil, the gnomish marksman, enlists for vengeance. The shadow army will pay for taking her father from her.
Neyra wants nothing to do with the army of the Light. She’s already lost too much. And yet, she can’t just let her family leave without her.
But what hope does a family of Tallfellows have against the darkness?
This work is book one of the GameLit, Progression Fantasy series:

Wholesome family moments.
Heaps of trauma (AND some lighthearted subplots, don't you worry!)
And, of course, many MANY dumb shenanigans
The entirety of the first volume "The Tallfellows" is complete, standing at about 58k words. (Now that I've been approved, I will go ahead and post the first few chapters as well.) From there, I'll be updating on a weekly basis. Volume two (title tbd) is about 30k words so far and if there is any interest, I will go ahead and post those chapters as we get to them!
Thanks for coming along for the ride, and I hope you enjoy my fun little project!
