As you may be aware, most Isekais start off with the main character being summoned to the “other world” in a variety of ways. It’s mostly by death or they just suddenly teleport via unknown means. However, this instance may be a little bit different. Firstly, the protagonist or “hero”of the story has already been living in this alternate fantasy world for well over a year. And secondly, well, you’ll find that out for yourself… Roy Marwood was quite unlike the typical main characters one sees in this particular genre. Before his summoning, he wasn’t the typical closed off loner/loser type. He was actually quite popular in university. He got good grades, spent time with friends, worked part-time, and even had a good relationship with his parents. It’s fair to say his life was much better than most and he was blessed with many good things. But despite all that, there was still something missing. The now 23 year old had a certain void and emptiness in his heart. He seemed to have everything, but still wasn’t happy or content with life. A year ago, when he was summoned to the fantasy world of Aeilaeifr, he thought it would give him a chance to start his life over from scratch and find that missing piece so he could finally be happy and feel whole inside. As for how that worked out well, you’ll see for yourself soon enough… Since it would be unfair for me to just tell you the whole past in the opening passage, I, the narrator, shall reveal the past bit by bit, piece by piece, recalling the events of what Roy has gone through during the past year; until he meets The Lancer of Flames. I hope things will be less confusing that way.
