Synopsis

The Sage of the Endless Sword is dead, Killed in ignominious fashion, his soul would have normally gone into the afterlife within the Way. But Fate had other plans and he soon found himself thrust into the body of an unremarkable young man in the alternate world of Gekai. In this world, gods walk amongst mankind and monsters threaten its existence as they spawn endlessly from the labyrinthine paths of the Dungeon. Adventurers, bearing the blessings of the gods, journey into the Dungeon to do battle with these monsters to earn money and grow strong. With nothing better to do, Adama joins their ranks and soon finds himself in the middle of an epic adventure where he battles overwhelming odds and vicious beasts, all while attracting a wide variety of beautiful and capable girls to his orbit. Will this ornery, tough-as-nails protagonist beat the odds and make the most of his second chance? Or will he fall to the looming shadow of defeat once again? This is a fan fiction isekai novel from two separate worlds. Cradle (Will Wight) and Is it Wrong to Pick up Girls in a Dungeon (Fujino Oomori) aka Danmachi. The character of the Sword Sage is ripped straight from Cradle as faithfully as I was able, but I have taken some significant creative liberties with some of the characters and plot points from the original Danmachi, though. I changed quite a few people and events in ways that I thought suited the Sword Sage a bit more. Some of these are pretty radical changes, and if you were hoping for a totally symmetrical merger you have come to the wrong place, but I think that fans of either book, as well as neither will be able to enjoy this. However, quite a few Cradle terms are mentioned and not explained, and I will try to have a glossary for any who are confused. This fanfic is probably most friendly to Cradle readers. Cover made with OpenAI.
