Pursuing the vague leads of a string of seemingly miraculous healings, a dogged investigator finally finds the mysterious culprit near the slums, a district of the city colloquially known as the Gloom. Bearing witness to these astounding powers himself, wielded by such an unlikely hand, the knight and his hopeful patron is about to find that the one their kingdom and perhaps their world desperately needs, is both less and a lot more than they'd ever suspected. However, far from everyone has realized this need and most among those who have will still be hard pressed to see beyond their narrow view of society and admit what is right in front of them. Some still will seemingly rather let the world itself atrophy than accept that sometimes less is indeed more. And the individual who's life will take the most dramatic turns and bear the brunt of fate is the Saint herself.
