Stephanie doesn't think her world is real. She thinks it's a game, or something weirder. In the evenings and early mornings, she sees flashes of another life. Dreams of starships falling from the sky bleed into her waking moments, and a sense of dread overcomes any hope she had for the future.  Elsewhen, an astronaut appears unannounced on a deep-space research station. The station, once a geological research vessel, now has a private purpose. Its crew are testing ‘intersect’ propulsion, a new method of interstellar transport that relies on pre-existing scars in spacetime, left behind by some ancient, unknown catastrophe. But during their last test they found something unexpected: A teenage girl’s mind, disembodied and isolated, has been sending them images of the inside of their starship from somewhere in deep space. Stephanie is about to wake up, and she might kill reality in the process. (This story will be posted in short scenes to make for easier reading and more frequent updates. This also helps handle the conceptual leaps between characters and universes).
