This is the first short story of the "Solsticeshire Journal's" series, which are all written as journal entries. The series follows the town's inhabitants throughout history being connected by the old well.  Haunted by the echoes of the old well, a girl finds herself drawn to the caverns hidden under the town of Solsticeshire during the spring of 1802. The girl's journal recounts her hearing screams echoing from the old, dried up well. Curiosity gets the better of her; she descends to bottom of the well, with only her journal and an oil lantern, to search for source of the horrific sound.  She is drawn to the end of the cavern, despite being terrified and running out of light. She begins to question her decision, and her sanity. What could possibly be beckoning her into the cave? And what for? What she finds in that cave is beyond her comprehension.  Who is behind the door?
