In a different timeline from our own, vigilantism was never illegalized in the U.S.A. On this alternate Earth, those vigilantes took to adopting secret identities maintained by costumes. This choice on their part resulted in the vigilantes being nicknamed Masks by popular culture. Conner McClain has spent the past three years as the sidekick to his city's greatest Mask, Death Head. But after a tragedy turned miracle that even he doesn't understand, Conner finds himself having become his world's first super-powered Mask. And although Conner is elated by the amount of good he can do with his new abilities, he could never have predicted the opening floodgates of Chaos that would follow so closely behind him. As Conner faces down mysterious figures of corrupt power and absolute lunatics, he begins to question just how exactly he is supposed to save this world, and if the idealistic trail he wishes to blaze is truly the right one.
