However, as the conflict between the Ye clan and the imperial authority intensified, their relationship grew increasingly fragile. By the age of fifteen, the rift caused by familial and imperial interests pushed them further apart, leaving them mired in suspicion and estrangement. As the power struggle escalated,  Roga, in a bid to secure his position, sacrificed Ye Rong's family, while Ye Rong endured great suffering amidst the conflict between love and familial loyalty. After the death of Xie Liulan,  Roga finally seized full control of the imperial power and decided to marry Ye Rong to unify the forces. However, Ye Rong, her heart long since broken, proposed to observe a three-year mourning period for Xie Liulan and remained cold and distant towards  Roga. She had lost her sight due to an illness, and the blue lotus tattoo on her face symbolized the indelible scars in her heart. Three years later, Ye Rong returned to the capital, and along the journey, she encountered a nobleman, Mo Qiehuai. In the Drunken Red Pavilion, she found a brief respite from the constraints of imperial power, playing the pipa and singing her sorrows, which captivated Mo Qiehuai deeply.
