Being suddenly freed after years of mind control is a bit of a shock. Irina is out of practice with the whole “free will” thing, and has no time at all to figure it out before going on the run. Her friends are still under the sway of otherworldly masters and want to bring her back into the fold. No matter what she thinks of it. The wilderness beckons, but it holds dangers of its own.
