“That was more of me bluffing, yet that makes me more curious, how does the scribe intend to kill me in this story?” Rin thought deeply as he walked out of the cemetery. He then looked at the time through his phone, which was 10:20 am. “Alright Ludwig don’t make me lose my patience.” He said as he looked up with the rain started to worsen.
“I’m already here.” Ludwig said calmly as he walked through a gate. “Are you gonna help me or not.” He asked expecting an immediate answer. “Unfortunately I cannot do so, I need to investigate a case in the 5th capital. I don't understand why they won’t make the elite ranks assigned in that capital to do it, but I don’t have the power to argue with the cadres anyway.” Rin sighed as he walked away, the rain subsiding yet the clouds still covering the skies.
“Your call.” Ludwig said as he opened a gate for Rin to travel through. “Abel is already in the main city for the 4th capital, he can’t enter the manor at all cost.” Ludwig mumbled before he opened a gate for himself.
After he walked through, he was in a large garden with a fountain in the middle, with patterns formed by the well trimmed bushes. There were also servants in the garden trimming some of the bushes thoroughly, “I don’t recognize any of them aside, when was that fountain made? I don’t remember a fountain here..odd..Mother always despised fountains.” He reminisced as he walked through the garden, then made it to the front door.

He hesitated to open the door, with him hearing words echo in his head, said by a lady. “You are the pride and joy of the family.” Then an image of his younger self,, roughly 8 years old with him walking with a woman with brunette hair holding his hand, walking through the garden. “Mother, why does Elias have bruises covering his body?” His younger self asked, pointing at someone who seemed to be 16 years old covered in bruises swinging a wooden sword at a straw dummy, “your cousin must’ve worked himself too hard last night.” The mother said in a soft, gentle tone.
“I don’t think you can bruise yourself that badly from working too hard-” His younger self spoke before his mother covered his ears, gently yet firmly. She then urgently made him turn away, “now, now, let's go inside before bugs bite us.” But Ludwig saw a split second of an older man holding an empty bottle walking toward Elias.
“I didn’t understand it then…but I knew she was hiding something,” Ludwig thought, his mind snapping back to the present, he was still hesitant to open the front door. But he powered through and swung the door open, entering a large corridor with closed, or half open doors. He walked through the corridor, then saw a glimpse of a butler. The butler was caught off guard at the sight of him, then yelled out, “Insolent brat! You should’ve never come back!” Before taking out a shortsword.
