A young naval captain was tasked to track down an elusive pirate. Upon his journey, he discovered the true nature of his mission. As events unfold, he is thrust into something much larger than himself. What were thought to be myths and conspiracy theories may not be so far from reality after all. Truths about his world will be unveiled. It's a story of peace, love, and war. Of politics, friendship, and betrayal, and more. Old friends become enemies, enemies become friends (?) And maybe... or maybe not, they will find their purpose along the way. ✰ This is very much a first draft. ✰ This is my first novel thingy apart from a few short stories I wrote with my friends back in high school. It's based on a worldbuilding project of mine that started as a hobby during or shortly after the COVID lockdown thing. As a former political science student from Southeast Asia, I can't help but create a world with historical, cultural, and political references from my region, though not exclusively. It's pretty much a adventure of a few young people from different backgrounds in a world shaped by previous generations. They are put in certain environments or situation that are beyond their control, and for better or worse, they are trying to walk their own path. Of course, I can't just ignore the historical and political backgrounds of why their jouney started in the first place, so I had to add some political aspects to it. The setting is a teeny tiny bit more sci-fi than fantasy but I can assure you that it's both. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it!
