First Look: The Ruins of Rimnir, the hottest MMORPG of 2022
Gone are the days of questing. Gone are the days of the mindless grind. Gone are the days of playing with your fellow man.
With the launch of The Ruins of Rimnir, Dante Lowe has sought out to create a game that changes everything. This is an MMO that takes no prisoners. The risks are real. The rewards mean something in real life. Rimnir is no child's game. This is a system that changes the world of gaming as we know it.
And it all started with Lowe's invention, the RMR system. To play The Ruins of Rimnir, or RoR as the kids are calling it, you strap on the patented RMR head gear, which works as a virtual reality simulator, complete with visuals, noise reducing technology, head set, and mic. The RMR system also comes equipped with its own controller, so you're playing the game in the traditional ways of gaming. No full body suit here. Let your thumbs to the work, just like console games. The system comes in all forms, from basic to the delux model, which features water cooling systems, enhanced visuals, and more.
"I am pretty proud of this system," Lowe says, his wide-toothed grin lighting up the room around him, "You're completely immersed in the game when you're in it. It's killer. I just lose myself when I'm playing."
Rimnir boasts a whole new way to enjoy the game. Players will start out as part of the Consortium, the neutral faction, and you can chose to stay there to enjoy the crafting and trading aspects of the game, or chose a side.

The Coalition is the first faction, located on the west coast of the game. Join the Coalition to help secure farm lands and resources to help fight off the bothersome Dragonkin from the north.
The Syndicate is the second faction, located on the east coast. Help the Syndicate by mining resources, sailing off to sea, and beating back the Coalition while warding off the Dragonkin as they attempt to make their approach.
"This is a PVP style game with PVE elements," Dante explains casually, "Attacking the other faction is the name of the game. There are no quests, no mindless "gather 10 things and come back" style crap in my games. No, you're gonna hone your skills and murder."
And there's a lot at stake in Rimnir. If your character dies, it's gone. There is no healer to resurrect you, no graveyard to respawn at. You're a goner and you will lose more than just your gear.
"At death... you'll lose all of your aethys crystals," Dante says with a note of glee in his voice.
Aethys crystals are the currency of the game. They're used to trade for goods and services, used to power up your magics, and can be traded in for real life currency rewards. So, if you lose those aethis crystals, you're losing real money.
"Everything is at stake," Dante explains as he pulls his cap over his dark eyes, "But everything is a reward."
The Ruins of Rimnir is set to be released on September 27, 2022 and is available where all games are sold.
