William Magnus is a young alchemist who has just created something that will change the world: an alcatech. His parents won't give him the one thing he needs to turn it on: Essence. William is determined to prove his invention works and sets out to retrieve the needed essence. Along the way, William encounters a mysterious stranger who tells him to steer clear of a nearby city after the sun goes down. Paying no heed, William heads toward the familiar city he has not visited for five years. As the night approaches, he attempts to get out but finds himself trapped inside. Soon enough, William finds out that what the stranger told him was true. William is assailed by unseen enemies, whence the threat to his safety emanates. Without the powers of Alchemy, William is in grave danger. How will he fend off these foes and prove to everyone the power of his revolutionary alcatech?
