The story of The Red Journal will be inspired by the story of The Last of Us, in that a world-ending apocalypse will ravage the entire Earth.  Beginning in the year 2012, scientists from across the world had been actively researching a way to bring back the dead via a method called "Reanimation".  This process involved taking an already deceased individual's body and injecting a lab-developed serum made from a fungus that was harvested from the ice of a comet traveling close by to Earth into the brain of a host, thus allowing for the individual to be "reborn" after death.  While trials in various kind of test animals showed no abnormalities-at first, it was when this serum was injected into Humans when all hell broke loose, as when dead Humans began coming back to life, they would soon become known as the "Awoken".  They would have no memory of their past lives and due to being injected with a serum developed from a Fungi from space, their bodies would now be hijacked by the fungi and over the course of several days their bodies would mutate quickly into several kinds of brand-new species.  What followed would become known as the "End of Earth" incident, where the Awoken would obliterate 75% of the Human race over the course of 10 years, which is when the main story begins.  What follows are Journal entries depicting the tales of Love, Survival, Cunning and the Will to live another day in a world devoid of Hope.
