It announced with a spiked Cheshire grin that split its face in half, arms spread in welcoming.  Victor Castillo is a bartender with a broken future as a musician. When he is transported into a Victorian-style mansion with nothing but the presence of another contender: "B", the executioner with an axe over both their necks, and a creature with a god complex, his banal life turns topsy-turvy on its head.
