Synopsis
Princess Laetitia Clovis is blessed. Her life in the palace of Laurel is more than she could have ever dreamed. Anything she could hope for or dream of is provided for her. Her parents, the king and queen, dote on her, and her kingdom loves her. Everything is perfect, and she eagerly awaits finding a prince to marry and having a kingdom of her own one day—once she reaches her eighteenth birthday. With her birthday coming soon, and all the preparations for her debut ball in place, Laetitia anxiously awaits meeting all of her prospective suitors.
Until one day, she overhears a conversation she was never meant to hear. Horrified, her life crashes down upon her. She desperately seeks to run away and escape the fate that awaits her. But things she had never noticed before are now glaringly obvious to her; in her naivete, she'd never given them a second thought. Like how intensely guarded she was and deeply sequestered in her palace, cut off from the outside world. She tries but fails in her escape.
She sits alone in her garden the night before her eighteenth birthday. Unable to change her fate, she is ready to give in to it, until a figure who has been watching her from afar steps up and changes her world forever.
