Turns out, when you engage in piracy, you tend to get sentenced to death. That's what has happened to Roland. Fortunately, his childhood friend Holsley isn't going to let him hang. Suddenly, it's a race against the noose as Holsley navigates the dangers of a dilapidated city to retrieve the various magical things Roland needs to escape his precarious situation. To get these items, however, he'll have to tangle with the leadership of the city, supernatural entities that don't like people manhandling their magical items, and the devious thieves guild that Roland betrayed when he was younger.  Inspired by a love of Dungeons and Dragons and other TTRPG roleplaying games, The Pirate’s Ruby is a light-hearted love letter to both adventure and fantasy, filled with references, fun characters, and outlandish scenarios lifted straight out of the game.
