The mob of nobles, including the king, left for the forest early this next morning at the crack of dawn, following the 'traditions'. The forest was one of the well-known reasons why not many people could get into the kingdom, most of it bordering the city and guarding it like a watchdog. A watchdog that could not be taken away, even in the most drastic situations.
The forest was also inside the walls of the kingdom, but not much. Still, the forest is a source of food, work, and medicines. All food comes from the forest, and the enchanted plants on the walled side can be used for medicinal purposes. People have distinct jobs that rely on the forest too, like agriculture and medicine.
When the nobles arrived at the forest, they were met with a surprise. Now, the nobles had never been in the forest before, and this was most definitely new to them, but strangely enough, they found a stump right in front of them. Thinking of it as a sign of divinity that that very spot that the tradition said to be the perfect place had a stump, they placed the baby there. The baby laid still in its peaceful sleep, unaware of what was happening.
The stump had some ominous engravings that were representations of gods, giving the nobles more reason to leave the baby there. This was unquestionably a temple for their ancestors. But, what they were doing was wrong, even though they didn't know that. Slowly the stump began to shake lightly, making the baby roll over and fall. The baby started crying intensely until her father picked her up and gave her an imperious stare. Even then, she gave her father a displeased look. How uncivilized! I am saved from bringing up such a creature. She doesn't even know how to respect the king! He thought, yet he knew he was just reassuring himself.

The nobles placed the baby on the stump again and were turning to leave when they heard an other-worldly voice shout. At once a portal opened in the sky and filled the earth with blinding light, nothing like the nobles had ever experienced before.
"YOU SINNERS!" A great voice boomed. "YOU DO A WRONG AND PUT THE BLAME ON ME?! I WILL NOT FORGIVE YOU! SHE WILL BRING YOUR DOWNFALL AND BE THE CAUSE OF DEATH IN YOUR LIFE!" The light swirled in front of the nobles, and it disappeared, just as fast as it came.
No more than a few seconds had passed, but the king was dumbstruck. He had never thought that a divination for his death would happen again. He thought it would never happen. That he could keep the first prophecy in check, and never need a second. But, he was mistaken. Evidently. For a second he forgot about the courtiers, but then recalled the current situation. Without hesitance— and much thought — the king quickly cast a spell over them, and as he did so, he felt the magic flow from his fingertips. The spell would make them forget the prophecy. It was always an easy spell, but this time, it felt as if after hearing the prophecy, his inevitable death had come nearer, and it troubled him...considerably.
The courtiers, who were dazed and gasping in awe moments before, felt the magic work through them. Their expressions changed to mild confusion as their king stood before them, standing tall and proud.
In all the mess, the forgotten child remained where she was, sniffing in disbelief.
