Synopsis
The Peacekeeper Between Realms is a celestial title, given only to one being. The holder of it goes by the singular name Atis, though he has many aliases across different worlds. In his centuries of servitude as the immortal vessel of the elusive Celestial Council, Atis has felt the erosion of his connection to the gods get worse, giving him further freedom to think for himself-- a tragedy, by his own estimates. In this short story collection, the life of a world-traversing immortal is documented from different points of view as he comes to terms with having been a mortal-- forever shackled by the mind of a human while living centuries as a divine entity.
This first short story (and many more to come, I'm sure) is based off of Sumahid "Percival" Chowdhury's work on the sci fi fantasy multiverse known as "The Final Frontier". I have explicit permission to have written this as a canon story, and is therefore not fanfiction. Though the story was originally written for the sake of sharing privately between a group of friends surrounding this character that made for a tabletop RPG campaign, I thought I'd share it publicly anyways. At best the reader might catch on to the world building and roll along with what is presented, and might even want to read more. At worst, I imagine the story can be confusing and/or boring. Who doesn't like overpowered male leads, right?
Nevertheless, I can assure readers who passes by this short story collection that I am confident in my ability to write. If you wish, you may leave critique, as I sure don't mind. Well, that's a lie-- criticism does give me anxiety, but I won't cry and cower or raise my fist in anger at well-meant comments. I post this publicly because I want to gauge what works and what doesn't for people, and I realize I can't please everyone, but I want to know regardless. Happy reading!
