Synopsis
In the year 2027, the world is grappling with the devastating effects of the Third World War, in which widespread famine and chaos are rampant. As the United States struggles to retain its status as the dominant world power, the Concur Powers, following a critical defeat of the US Navy at Honolulu, find an opportunity from a temporary weakness to launch an invasion of Los Angeles. To thwart the invasion, the US military deploys the 101st and 171st Infantry Divisions alongside the newly formed 54th Armored-Airborne Battalion, tasked with defending Mount Lee, the "Iron Peak," whose storied past as a Hollywood landmark now serves as a state-of-the-art strategic stronghold. As the battle intensifies, the 101st and 171st sustain heavy losses and are forced to retreat toward the Iron Peak. In a desperate attempt to cover their withdrawal, artillery is ordered to be fired on the city below. Just as the shells are about to be launched, a mysterious energy surge catapults the 54th—along with The Iron Peak—into a fantastical realm filled with medieval kingdoms, mythical beasts, and potent magic. Among the transported soldiers is Kaelin “Kae” Hideki, a 26-year-old gaming enthusiast turned war hero, suffering from PTSD due to his actions during The Battle of Honolulu. Now thrust into an unfamiliar world, Kae is appointed to lead a reconnaissance team into uncharted territories, seeking a means to navigate this new landscape and forge a path back home. The fate of Los Angeles and the survival of the United States hang in the balance as Kae and the 54th are forced to adapt, confront fantastical challenges, and unveil the secrets of their wondrous yet perilous new reality, dubbed by them as "New Americana."
