Adam has spent his entire childhood fighting off death with a stick, despite living in the nicest manor in Erilea, the largest metropolis in the southern quarter of the kingdom. His strange birth and lineage are to blame, but until he meets a mysterious, sarcastic, enamoring urchin, he's content to live his life as his parents intend: hidden from the public and suffering strange "episodes" in his cellar. That all changes when they spend the evening together, and Adam's real father reaches out to him with a plan and the promise to "set the world to rights."
