Spiritual energy… Also called ki. The living breath and essence found within everything in the world. From the smallest grain of sand or particle of dust, to the largest of creatures and mightiest of dragons. Everything and everyone is made of this energy. That which alters the world around itself using ki is said to be ascended. Objects, plants and minerals that ascend, usually due to an unnatural concentration of spiritual energy within them, are called artefacts. Animals that ascend are usually called demons, as they are often bloodthirsty and deadly. Some creatures, such as the dragons, are so powerful they seem to be born ascended.
