Aethel and his big bear of a friend, Teddy, are surge users. Surge users outside of the law no less. So without a job, and a couple of mugs down at the tavern, they accept a  job offer from a gang of shady characters in need of their "talents". They did NOT, however, expect the murders, the arson, or having their entire reality turned on its ugly head.
