Synopsis
In the beginning, chaos ruled over the Prime Material. The mystical creatures ran havoc, destroying everything that crossed their path, even their kin. Humanity only survived by living in groups and collecting scraps the creatures left behind. Until a group, who would later be known as ‘The First’, discovered the binding. From then on, humans scaled up the ladder, hunting the creatures and making the mystical powers their own.
In the modern world, humans have controlled only three percent of Prime Material. Now, the trained mysticals help their masters in every task, from daily-life struggles to war. The magic of the creatures evolved under the guidance of the bound, creating all sorts of arcanistry, like long-distance ground-water-air transportation and communication, advanced healthcare, and much more.
Nowadays, everyone born inside of a human-administrated area, as by the Human Nations Accord, has a chance to be bound. Even the vagrants and destitute can be bound to one of the public-own creatures. Unfortunately, there is a one-in-a-million chance of someone being born with a soul defect that prevents the binding. Tyra was born with such a condition, fated to be forever unbound.
Rejected by her family, the girl grew up on the streets, where she fought constantly against bound peers for scraps and charity. Still, Tyra survived, either by sheer defiance of fate or reliance on the dream of one day becoming a trainer, a profession that is highly respected and doesn’t require one to be specific-bound to any creature. Against all odds, she braved life on the streets and trainer academy, becoming the first unbound graduate.
Now, Tyra will face another challenge, finding her place in a world of mysticals. Her journey won’t become any easier, as she will have to prove herself at every corner and compete against bound and the wealthy. However, the unbound young woman might discover a gift within her so-called soul deficiency.
What to expect: High fantasy world, mystical creatures, beast training, progression through levels, weak to strong, faction building.
