Synopsis
Deep within Mount Ivory, the capital of the human nation of Arawon, Braithe Blackhart has been captured. Her life has been centered around making a mockery of the rich, pitting the Lords and Ladies of the great country against one another in back-and-forth petty seizures of gold and family jewels for the Society. As boring as it sounded to the normal citizen of Mount Ivory, there was a thrill that only those in the company of the Society knew--in damaging the pride of those whose power dangled in front of the less fortunate. However, her life is just a speck amidst the world around her.
The suffering in the neighboring war with Diamore has been a century-long battle for the people of Arawon. People have gone missing, death reins the shared border, and many of the country's connections have been severed. Desperation has taken hold of the Crown, and the Immortals and Gods have seemingly forsaken their people. The dire situation has lead to the increase of crime throughout the country, extending the reasonable reach of the Crown's guards.
That said, her capture was inevitable--and not surprising--though the offer for the loosening of the guard's grasp on her family by the Queen of Arawon certainly was. Through a peace treaty, Diamore offers information through their expanded network across the Kosmas. As per the Queen's instruction and at the promise of highly valued treasure, Braithe ventures to uncover the location of the Orb of Kosmas, a legendary weapon of great magnitude said to bring a magikal balance across the land, with the help of a halfling Elf, raging priestess, and a spirit-bound blade.
