What's going on in Midridge? The town of Midridge, Illinois is a small town that can never seem to shake the “ghost stories” floating around the town. Ever since the 1800s, the humble settlement has been a rest stop for many on their way to Windy City, and travelers try not to stay for too long on account of the rumors of rampant serial killers that kidnap the inhabitants of the town. People go missing if they stray too far on their own in Midridge; a dumb mistake could be your complete downfall. The many mayors the town has had have all been devoted to looking for the actual cause of the disappearances, or to increasing the capacity of the local prison, or to expand the law force- all who have made attempts have met a mysterious end. Some were found that seemed to be mutilated by a wild animal, or “accidentally” wandering into a misplaced beartrap, or being electrocuted by a faulty power generator. And someone caught in the center of this is a young journalist named Daisy. She's been intrigued by the disappearances ever since she and her dad moved here, having an unusual fixation on finding more hints and clues about them. And suddenly, the mystery catches up to her. While working on a panel for the town's renfaire, she discovers some frightening history about the town, and finds out that the "curse" on the town is even worse than she feared- not to mention insane killers constantly trying to cut her plans short. What To Expect-This story is a parody of classic slasher horror tropes. I'm drawing inspiration from stuff like Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Scream, etc. -While often lighthearted, there will likely be some intense and graphic scenes involving gore and violence.
