Chapter 6. I Never Said That, Though?

Inside the elf’s magic forest.

Once the sun begins to rise, the elf who entered the Dream Space before wakes up and starts sharing what he got to other elves. His words quickly piqued the other elf’s interest as words about bronze and that special elf began to spread throughout the forest.

With the help of their magical forest’s rich resources and the combined effort from most elves, they easily created bronze alloy. With the addition of bronzes, the elf started moving from only weaving and playing with mud to creating work of art made out of bronzes too. Their favorite pastime turns into creating a replica of the equipment that Cedric wore when he met the elf through [Divine Revelation: Dream].

Some elves even got slightly more creative and began to find out the prototype of kilns used to craft clay potteries by burning their clay arts while trying to make some bronze.

Meanwhile, Inside a house on a certain tribe, hunter Gratian woke up from his bed. Looking at the familiar house, he closed his eyes and recalled the dream he just got. The visage of that person with a bright face has been etched deep within his memory. “Is that truly god, just like the one our tribe used to worship for blessing?”

From his meeting with the unknown god, Gratian could feel his vision expanded. Especially thanks to the illusory city and explanation the god has shown, it taught him the concept of ‘kingdoms’ and civilization.

With the increase of his vision, the simple hunter began to wish for something greater. Under the leadership of Gratian, the humans inside his tribe begin to look for copper ore and tin ores. After some trial and error, the human has also found a way to craft bronze.

With its help, the hunting efficiency of Gratian’s tribe greatly increases. Which allows the people inside to have more free time and give rise to different jobs and cultures.

Although he has brought prosperity and gained more authority over his tribe, Gratian is still unsatisfied by it. He still recalled the city he saw on the Dream Space and the status of a king, the ruler of a vast kingdom where multiple cities existed.

Several years pass by. After the miracle of bronzes, Gratian began sharing the knowledge of animal husbandry he heard while listening to Cedric’s explanation in the Dream Space.

He has gathered most of the knowledgeable people on his tribe to collect many knowledge of agriculture and animal husbandry, he then merged it and shared them to everyone on the tribe. With its help, the amount of food resources and newborns inside the tribe greatly increases.

Ten years after Gratian visited the Dream Space, he has already become the undisputed leader of his tribe.

Standing in the midst of his tribe’s open space while surrounded by many hunters equipped with bronze spears, Gratian spoke. “This day, ten years ago, I was granted knowledge by the god. Along with it, he granted me with a mission to become the leader of humans and lead the human race to prosperity!”

“And so, under the will of god, I shall be the first king of humanity. The tribe we resided in shall be named the Winter City, the first city of Human Kingdom!” When Gratian shouted the word ‘Human Kingdom’, the surrounding people raised their hand and cheered for him.

Spreading his arms open, he roared, “As the god has dictates, I shall gather all human tribes and place them under the glory of the Human Kingdom! We shall now begin our first expedition to conquer the surrounding tribes!”

Due to the help of bronze weapons, the hunter from Winter City has long since increased the radius of their hunting ground. Which allows them to know about the existence of other human tribes.

Under the banner of the mission from god, hunters from Gratian’s Winter City approached the nearby tribes and started to suppress them through the difference in their equipment.

Inside the Divine Space, Cedric has watched all the happenings within the last decade without stopping. All living creature’s struggles and efforts to survive have entered his eyes.

As he watched Gratian’s declaration, Cedric turned speechless. “I never told him to do that though?”

After that, he can’t help but sigh in helplessness. “I just want him to introduce bronze and advance the human’s technological trees.”

That’s when a screen appeared in front of him.

[Actually, if your target is to push the technological level, you can just spend GP and convert them to Mana. Those Mana will spread to the world and allow creatures with talent in Mana to utilize them. Once they learned fire type abilities, those humans can easily melt stones and slowly find out about metals.]

Cedric rolled his eyes at the message that’s 10 years late. “Why don’t you say that before I spend my GP to teach them?”

[It looks like you’re having so much fun. Furthermore, pushing the civilization level of your world before introducing mana will only be beneficial. Necessity is the mother of invention after all.]

Cedric rubbed his temple upon hearing that answer. He then thought of something and asked, “If I wished to introduce mana to my world, how much GP should I convert into mana? Is there some kind of maximum limit on the amount of mana I can send to the world?”

[Yes, there is indeed a limit for the amount of mana. For now, it is recommended to send 100 GP worth of mana every year for ten years straight. This will allow the creatures in your world to slowly adapt with the existence of Mana.]

He looked at the screen and asked, “Can you remind me to spread the mana every year and warn me after ten years? With my sense of time being problematic, I afraid I might accidentally forgot to do it or spread too much mana. Also, do I need to use my GP for this function?”

[Alright. As it is a simple request, it isn’t necessary to spend your GP.]

“Thank you.” Cedric nodded and started getting into serious business. He controlled some of his GP and converted it into Mana following his instinct.

Once he saw 100 GP had gone missing from his status panel, Cedric stopped and observed the change in the world.

Just like air, the Mana he created spread evenly throughout the world. With the existence of Mana, everything in the world is slowly evolving and changing.

The first one to adapt to mana isn’t the humans nor the other animals and plants. Surprisingly, the mana he converted are absorbed by the soils, metals, water, and other parts of the world’s nature.

After merging with nature, those mana slowly seeps into other living creatures through the wind, air, and soils. Then, the second to adapt are the plants that’s connected to water, soil, and air.

Among those plants, the adaptation of plants he got from [Basic Fantasy Creatures Package] are the best. They easily store a lot of mana inside their body and turn into magical plants with a multitude of properties. Some can create fruits that generate heat, some can slightly uproot themselves and move about, some gain the ability to turn into other plants and camouflage themselves.

Next, the herbivores are the next one to adapt with mana. Slowly but surely, mana begins to spread throughout their body. Just like the plants, those herbivores created from [Basic Fantasy Creatures Package] are the one who adapted the best. Most gained a slight increase in strength, while some gained supernatural abilities like generating water out of thin air, or slightly controlling the surrounding plants.

As the herbivores are the first one to adapt, there is a short time where many carnivores died from hunger due to the slight increase in strength the herbivores have, which allow them to escape or counter attack their hunter.

Cedric repeated the process every year while observing the living creatures in Crystal Cube World as his pastime activity. Whether it is the daily life of the humans, elves, and dwarves. Or even the daily life of a tiger-like creature as it hunts for prey, the life of a spider busy weaving their webs, and the life of a flower as it blossoms and wilts. Everything brought newfound joy to him.

It is also at that time Cedric found out he has the ability to observe things that have happened in the past when he tried to see a certain butterfly’s caterpillar phases.

He decided to call this ability to see the past as Past Observation. An unoriginal name, but it is easy to understand.

Ten years pass by quickly while he plays around with the Past Observation ability and spreading mana every year.

[Congratulations, you’ve already finished spreading 1.000 points of GP into mana for your world.]

With the System’s notification, he finally woke up and thought of Gratian. So, he decided to place his sight on the human kingdom.

When he returned his sight to Gratian, Cedric found out Gratian had conquered more than half of the human tribes and turned them into a part of his Human Kingdom. Among the ten human tribes initially created, only two tribes that’s located far away haven’t been brought under his rule. But, with how things progress, Cedric thinks the two remaining tribes will soon fall under Gratian’s control.

Except for the Human Kingdom’s Expansion, there is also another thing of note.

Since the third year Cedric started converting his GP to mana, some humans have started to awaken the power to use mana.

Furthermore, Gratian somehow became among the first few humans who gained the ability to use mana. Under the blessing of mana, he awakened a power he called Divine Might which allowed him to have physical power far above other humans. This blessing also makes others believe in his right to lead humanity by the god.

When Gratian heard many people had also awakened like him, he quickly gathered them together and granted those people the title of blessed. Those blessed become a part of the nobility class he built with him, the king, as the highest nobles.

By binding the most powerful of humans to his sides through benefit, he slowly solidified his rule on the Human Kingdom.

At the same time, under the change caused by mana, the animals surrounding the human cities turn stronger and stronger which makes hunting and travel difficult.

Even so, humanity slowly adapted to it. Gratian’s Winter City, which is the Capital City of the Human Kingdom keeps on expanding as the population increases with time. Slowly, their food production from husbandry, agriculture, and hunting are unable to catch up with the increase in needs.
