Chapter 20. I Got Transmigrated Into A World Of Sword And Magic, But Sword Has Just Been Invented

Seeing the familiar surroundings, Cedric created a chair and sat. Closing his eyes, he observed the Crystal Cube world.

Seeing the familiar scenery, he focused toward the Winter City and immediately saw a conspicuous change.

Almost half of the humans inside Winter City have begun to wear clothes made of wool with varying colors instead of animal leather. Except for linen and wool, there are also a few people wearing clothes made of plant fibers. The change in Winter City’s residence doesn’t end there as he could also see some people had now begun to wear accessories made of precious metal and gems or even magical plants and animals.

But what makes Cedric feel especially elated is the fact that humans have found a way to smelt and utilize irons. It can be seen from how some higher ranking soldiers in the city have begun to use swords made of irons and steels instead of bronzes. Although it hasn’t reached the stage of widespread use, it can be said they have taken the first step to enter the iron age from the bronze age.

“Wait, it’s not the time to focus on such a thing. I still need to check the hero I just sent.” Cedric looked at the coordinate he placed on the teleportation circle and found dozens of people gossiping around the area.

From the gossip he overheard, Cedric learned that Yuma had been guided by several patrolling guards into the palace.

He quickly searched around the palace. Soon, he found Yuma who’s waiting for Lacius to have an audience with him.

Seeing Yuma eating while occasionally sprinkling some salt from a plate full of salt he has brought, Cedric realized something and clasped his forehead in exasperation. “Huh? Is it actually possible for the hero to bring the item he held with him through the teleportation circle?”

Now he thinks about it. The teleportation circle having the ability to teleport items on the hero is perfectly normal. Otherwise, the people that got teleported to another world would arrive in their birthday suit.

Although he knows things already happened and there is no space for regret, Cedric still decided to ask the System about it. “Why don’t you tell me it’s possible to teleport items equipped by the people I summoned? “

[Because that’s common sense, no? Anyone with more than two brain cells could guess it.]

The System’s reply made Cedric doubt his own intelligence. So, he quickly changed the topic by asking another question. “Are there any limitations for the items that can be brought by the teleportation circle?”

[Indeed, there are some limitations like weight limit, size limit, and energy limit. As for the teleportation circle you drew, it should be just enough to teleport something up to 100 kilograms in weight. As for the size limitation, it can teleport items up to two meters above your teleportation circle and within 1 meter radius and with your teleportation circle as the center.]

“What about the energy limit?” Cedric asked.

[The energy limit is based around the materials used to draw the teleportation circle. As you used one third of a level 1 consumable divine item to draw it, the amount of energy that can be teleported is slightly more than energy contained in a Lower Level 1 creature.]

Hearing the answer that has satisfied him for now, Cedric stopped talking and refocused to Winter City’s palace.

While he’s chatting with the System, a guard has entered the guest room where Yuma is, and brought him to the throne room.

Arriving inside the throne room, Yuma immediately saw Lacius who sat on the throne while being surrounded by a few people. Then, He saw the guard next to him bowed toward Lacius and took his leave.

Based on the information the guard had told him before, the one sitting on the throne should be the king of the Sacred Kingdom, Lacius.

Although he has heard from the guard that the current king is extremely young. Yuma still feels a bit amazed upon seeing Lacius in person.

From his observation, Lacius looks around the same age as him, or perhaps even younger.

Yuma couldn’t help but feel a bit sad. While he is still a convenience store employee trying his best to make a living. Some people, like Lacius has already become a king, the person with the highest status in a kingdom.

Realizing he had gone into a daze for too long, Yuma quickly bowed toward Lacius and introduced himself. “Greetings, my name is Tanaka Yuma. I am a traveler from a faraway land called Japan.”

Before the other nobles inside the throne room could say anything, Lacius nodded and waved his hand. “Except for Hars, I want everyone to leave.”

Then, he pointed at the guard guarding the door and said, “Bring Tsukiko here.”

The guard bowed and left the room.

Seeing there are only three people in the room, Yuma couldn’t help but feel slightly nervous. He silently waited for a few minutes before Lacius finally spoke. “Did you arrive here through a magic circle too?”

Hearing Lucius’s question, Yuma felt shocked and replied, “Are you a transmigrator too?”

Lacius shook his head. “No, but someone else has entered this world through the same means a few months ago. I’ve asked my guard to bring her to this room. She should’ve arrived soon.”

“Eh, so there is also another transmigrator before me? Then did she also meet someone that claimed themself as the creator of Crystal Cube world?”

“What did you say?! You met someone who called themselves the creator of the Crystal Cube world?” Lucius shouted in disbelief. “Are you saying you met with the creator of this world?”

Yuma nodded, “Yeah.”

Lacius curiously asked, “If you had met them, did you see how they looked?”

“No, when talking with me, their face is enveloped by a beam of light.” Yuma shook his head and fell silent for a moment before unconfidently said, “But before I met with them, there was a suspicious man who I suspect might be the creator himself, or at least related to the creator.”

“Can you describe how the man looks later? This is news to me. The previous person didn’t mention seeing the god before she was sent to this world.” Lacius rubbed his chin and asked, “So, what has the god said to you before they or he sent you to this world?”

“He called me a destined hero from another world and asked me to defeat the demon king that will be born in the world soon.”

Lacius asked in confusion, “What is a demon king?”

“I don’t know. He didn’t tell me anything about it.” Yuma shrugged and continued, "But, if I took the word literally, combined with the fantasy novel knowledge I had, it should’ve meant the king of the demon race.”

He then asked Lacius, “So, are there demon races in this world?”

Lacius shook his head while asking in confusion, “There are no demon races in the world. Even if they does exist, at least I never even heard about it.”

Lacius and Yuma then stood there while awkwardly staring at each other for a long time. At last, Lacius changed the topic, and the discussion goes on.

Meanwhile, inside the Divine Space.

While Lacius and Yuma are talking with each other. Cedric silently eavesdropped on their conversation.

Even though Yuma has suspected he is the god of the Crystal Cube world, he chose to ignore that matter. After all, the reason he hid his appearance mainly because he wishes to act mysterious. It doesn’t matter if they begin to learn of his real appearance.

Right now, he simply feels happy, especially when he sees Yuma notifying Lacius about the birth of the demon king and why he is sent to the Crystal Cube world.

Although Lacius has caused quite a trouble before, his power is undeniable. Even without including the military power he held as the king of the Sacred Kingdom, just his own personal power is already among the top ten in the world.

He has a gut feeling that Lacius will soon reach Level 1. Although he doesn’t know just how powerful a level 1 is compared to someone at level 0, Cedric guessed the difference in strength should be quite massive.

‘Hmm?’ Now that he thinks about it, it’s pretty weird how Lacius could reach peak level 0 several times faster than others. Although his potential is indeed the highest in the world, to reach peak level 1 within less than ten years is incredibly fast compared to others.

Unable to hold his curiosity, Cedric asked, “How does Lacius increase his strength so quickly compared to others?”

[It’s due to the magic plants and magic beasts he has eaten throughout the year. Magical plants and magical beast’s flesh contained high mana density that could help advance someone’s life level upon consumption. As a king, Lacius has access to multitude magical beast flesh and plants, which allow him to greatly increase his strength in a short span of time.]

Well, that answer is unsurprising. After all, the existence of magical plants and beasts that could increase someone’s strength is quite common in fantasy books. Especially those fantasy books from the progression fantasy sub genre.

It’s just he never expected the magical plant in his world to have the same effect.

He suddenly thought of Gratian, “Then, why is Gratian stuck at Peak Level 0 until he died? His potential should be quite high to awaken his blessed power so early.”

Although Cedric already has a vague guess, he still wants to ask the System to verify his guess.

[During Gratian’s time, the mana density inside magical plants and magical beasts is much lower than Lacius’s era. By the time the amount of mana inside plants and animals has reached a passable degree, Gratian has already turned old and lost his chance to reach level 1.]

Cedric wanted to continue asking a few other questions . But, the situation inside the throne room caught his attention.

After happily talking with each other for a long time, a knock sounded from the door and a guard brought Tsukiko inside the room.

Right after Tsukiko entered the room, Yuma’s shocked voice can be heard. “Eh? big sis Tsukiko?”

Meanwhile, Tsukiko also replied in shock, “Yuma?! What are you doing here?”

Cedric overheard their conversation and feels extremely speechless. “Both of them actually know each other? Furthermore, they seem to be quite close. Just what kind of freak coincidence is this?”

Ignoring Hars and Lacius, who listened to their conversation in curiosity. Tsukiko asked Yuma, “How is your scoundrel brother? Did he look for me after I went missing for a year? Or did he find a new girlfriend immediately?”

“You know how my brother is. I haven’t met him for the last five days.” After answering, Yuma’s voice sounded a bit confused. “But, a year? I never heard any news of your disappearance though? Furthermore, we just met each other less than a month ago when you visited my house with my brother.”

Another awkward silence ensued until Tsukiko suddenly opened her eyes wide. “Wait, what year is it when you get sent to this world?”

Although Yuma doesn’t know why Tsukiko asked such a question, he still replied. “It should be around late November 2024.”

Hearing Yuma’s reply, Tsukiko’s eyes turned even wider.

Seeing Tsukiko’s eyes that felt like it might jump out of its socket, Yuma quickly asked. “Big sis, please calm down first and tell me what’s wrong.”

“I also got sent to this world around late November 2024! To be exact, it should be 28 November. So….” Tsukiko said while holding her sentence to give Yuma a sense of anticipation.

Hearing Tsukiko’s reply, Yuma quickly shouted in shock. “Do you mean we come from a different parallel Earth?”

Tsukiko suddenly paused and said in embarrassment. “Actually, I want to say the time between the two worlds might pass differently. But, your alternate universe guess might also be correct. So, let’s compare the things on our respective Earth.”

Before they could begin comparing their memories of Earth, Lacius clapped and said. “It seems both of you have a lot of things to say. How about the two of you rest for today? I’ll call you tomorrow.”

“For now, I have other important things to attend to.”

Yuma and Tsukiko looked at each other before awkwardly bowing to Lacius.

“Hars, bring the two of them to their room.” Lacius said while turning his head to Hars.

After a nod from Hars, he brought Yuma and Tsukiko outside of the throne room, leaving Lacius alone in the room.
