Synopsis
He is the Lich Emperor at the pinnacle of necromancy, the tyrant ruling the world - his Unholiness Invictus Celsus.
After his phylactery was destroyed by rebellious "traitors", Invictus should have perished as well. Instead, he woke up in a seemingly medieval world, in the body of a young man named Lexius. Now, the bastard son of a Marquees, he is barely qualified to learn magic and treated as trash both by most of his family and by his peers from the academy.
The former lich doesn't really care about the past of his newfound body, though. Why should he? After being (un)dead for hundreds of years he now can experience being alive again! Only after losing something once can you understand its true value. With his feelings and emotions back, he is going to enjoy this new life to the fullest. He'll try his best to understand living beings and to learn how to love. To redeem his past mistakes he is going to make this world a better place. How? By conquering it and then ruling as a benevolent (by his own standards) and wise Emperor, of course!
Now, Invictus determined to keep his humanity at any cost. But, to achieve his ambitions, he'd need way more than just a couple of spells. In this magical world that is so familiar and yet so foreign, he'll find a new path to overwhelming power. This time, he wouldn't sacrifice his true self. This time he wouldn't fail.
