The Murefre have existed for millennia. They’ve stayed hidden, they’ve protected the human race from disastrous consequences, and they’ve waged a shadow war against their insidious enemies. But all of that is about to be shattered.Note from the author: This is a story I wrote back in 2014. It was originally intended to be a short story, and then my brain went pretty wild with it and this was the result. I self-published this at one point, not necessarily "happy" with it, but as I lacked suitable editing tools at the time I didn't feel I had a choice. I ended up finding Scribophile and so I pulled this down from publishing and started applying feedback I was given, but life got in the way and I never finished.There were always sequels to this book intended to be written as well, truth be told book 2 wasn't just planned out, I wrote the first draft for most of it, but never finished the last few scenes. Again, this was all around the time life kinda got in the way.Well, here I am ten years later, I'm making the time to write more, and although I haven't bounced back to this project yet (may or may not), I figured why not post it here on RR and if there is enough interest in the story I will make the time to finish book 2, though I may have to spend time refreshing myself on all of the ideas.Anyway, enough rambling.
