Vivien had always been of the opinion that she knew herself. Who she was. Nothing to write home about, maybe, but a strong, independent woman who knew what was going on.Vivien knew nothing, and her ignorance is about to catch up with her. As the world she's always known is destroyed, the question has to be asked, was it ever really her world to begin with? After being attacked by something impossible on the mountain, Vivien's life unravels quickly. She's forced to run for help to a man she hardly knows, but with whom she feels an immediate bond. In the middle of nowhere, she learns that her understanding of the world is woefully incomplete. She witnesses terrifying combat and recognises her own  weaknesses... and that's all before the world ends.
