Chase Chandler thought he'd spend his entire life as a loser. He certainly hadn't made much of the first thirty years of it. Mental illness, tragedy, and generally rotten lock just kept right on kicking him in the teeth.Then, he finds the unfinished comic book pages his uncle Lesley left behind, before his disappearance. When those comic book pages take Chase to a world where he's living the life of his wildest dreams-- complete with super powers... He thinks that maybe now... finally... he can pull himself together, and make a real mark on the world. Or at least this one. Sure, there are laser canon-toting murder bots patrolling the streets, and a seemingly insane, electrically-empowered despot ruling over everything and everyone...! But Chase has the powers of Shadow Knight on his side! It's time for him to seize this chance at a brand new life. To step up. To finally become the true hero he was always meant to--Oh.No.Yeah, so... Chase dies.  Like... immediately. But that's okay! Because that... that's where the story starts.
