Magic was rare and powerful. Wizards, seeking greater power still, opened a rift into the demon lands. This lead to a series of wars which changed the nature of magic and men. Now most can use a little magic. But only one in a hundred have the true gift. They have been called Mancers. And so began a new era, which men called the Mancer's Tale. Nearly three hundred years into the Mancer's Tale, a terrible power has begun to grow in the east. Many conflicts have arisen. In the mountains south of the Great Fords of the River Black, one hundred orc clans have come together under a pair of powerful leaders. They have dubbed the alliance the Orcs Blackford. And one family of mancers must find the magic to save their home.
