Lily, an apprentice Barrier-Caster, and her soldier beau, Vetch, are two survivors of a violent and catastrophic attack on their home town of Moonfane Forge. Together, they will embark on a quest in hope of tracking down and rescuing their town's beloved elderly mage from the raid's mysterious perpetrators. Along the way, they must face the uncertainty cast over their lives since losing nearly everything they held dear, while at the same time navigating their own burgeoning romantic relationship.
