It is the year 2150 and the world was separated into 4 classes by the government. Class A is the Elite and rich, a world of diamonds and penthouses. Class B is middle class but highly respected. Class C is lower class but they still live a decent life. Class D is the lowest class, they live to serve the higher classes and their economy is failing. The book switches between the points of view of a teen from each class, each of whom leaves for different reasons. Over the course of the book they discover that the government has been controlling the magick the people used to use in day to day life and they form a rebellion. They use an old abandoned factory and teach people how to use their magick. Many teens and families join the rebellion and rise up against the government using their reclaimed magick to overpower them.
