The Love of a Sword is about a beautiful young goblin woman named Gigi. She lives and works at her family’s bakery, where she endures a life of tedium and repression. She dreams of what adventures lie outside of the confines of family and the village of Poppy.  Her counterpart is Drake, a human warlock. When he was a boy, he was plucked by the kingdom from an orphanage to make a pact with a dark god. A contract bound by the ink in the tattoos that cover his entire form. A covenant that commands Drake to control the shadows around him. He whispers to them, and they obey his commands. With mere words, he can make darkness physical. He has used this ability to defend his kingdom, as he was told, sending thousands of men to their deaths. This is the fate of a Sword of Paxia. He has been chained to the fate of being a living magical weapon—a destiny he rejects. He yearns for a family and freedom from hurting others. To this end, he fakes his death to be free. However, he succeeds too well and needs to be saved from a watery grave by our slightly inebriated heroine, Gigi. Unsure what to do with the unconscious man, she brings him home. Together, they learn about the worlds they have never experienced alone.  They face domestic and fantastic challenges, such as babysitting lamias, an underground fight club for mythical creatures, teaching orphans to gamble, marauding trolls ruining festivals, and conniving knights conspiring to enslave Drake once more. Can Gigi admit that she may have fallen in love and conquer the fear that if she had, her adventure would be already over?  Will Drake admit the truth to Gigi that his powers shorten his lifespan with every spell? Can love overcome, or will tragedy befall them?  Release Schedule: Every Sunday and Thursday I currently have about 100k words written, and I have big plans to continue writing it to span multiple books with your support!
