When Alex's sister loses a bet with the Light Eater, the demon traps her soul in a pocket demension for eternity. She's dead to the outside world, and her fate might be very similar to death, if not worse. Alex wants to save her, but he isn't the hero who would wager his own soul to do so. Alex has to choose between accepting the death of his sister or making a similar bet with the Light Eater. If he isn't willing to pay the price of losing, he will need to find a way to cheat.
