A notice posted on a door. A warning to the oligarchical rulers of the city of Pradita. A reminder to the working people of a time when they rose up and took control of their streets and their lives. Is that time returning?
Documents are now circulating – articles, letters, speeches, book entries, and more—all deemed too dangerous to be public.
What the people do with this information is their choice.
The Liberated Archives is an ongoing flash-fiction literary puzzle and world-building project for the World of Kir high fantasy setting, a multi-genre storytelling endeavor inspired by non-Western folklore, cultures, and histories and modern, decolonial, and abolitionist politics with the goal of imagining a new world so we might recreate our own.
What to expect:
- Flash Fiction - length entries (1000-2000 words), designed as found text – an article, letter, speech, book entry, et al.
- A literary, world-building puzzle that links to other projects to be released on this platform and others
- Writing that appeals to fans of N.K. Jemisin, Ursula Le Guin, and R.F. Kuang
- A world inspired by non-Western folklore and stories inspired by the history and philosophies of collective action, revolutionary thought, and radical societal change.
